Our Local Governing Board support the school moving forward

Tina Alexander

Chair of Governors

I feel privileged to have been approached by the Trust to serve as a governor at The Wroxham School. With a background in primary education, I have always admired the approach the school has to learning, and I am excited to be a part of the governing team.

I have worked as a Primary School teacher for 15 years, predominantly in KS1, and have always been passionate about the teaching & learning process. I believe it is essential to provide children with a sense of purpose and to encourage everyone to achieve their potential, whilst also making learning fun and relevant.

I have worn many hats over the course of my career, covering leadership positions in ICT, English, and Key Stage 1 and therefore believe I have a lot to bring to the role of governor. I am looking forward to working alongside this great team to help ensure they are getting it right for the children of The Wroxham.

Leigh Kilpert

I currently work as Head of Strategy Engagement at University College London (UCL). I am responsible for monitoring and reporting on the progress of our Education Strategy, as well as assisting in the development of new strategies. I design and lead projects that enhance our students’ experience of their education, with a particular focus on assessment and feedback.

I have worked in higher education for more than 16 years in a variety of roles: administration, management, and teaching. I have worked in three different countries and am acutely aware of the pressures faced by all forms of education in a global economy.

I applied to be a governor because I am believe strongly that a child’s education is a collaborative effort between teachers and parents. I am grateful for the responsibility I have been given and look forward to representing the views and concerns of the Wroxham School parent community.

Roger Billing

I am Headteacher at The Wroxham School and feel exceptionally proud to work so closely with our school community.  I have worked in a number of schools, however, this is my second time at Wroxham, having been Deputy here between 2008-2012.

Our Local Governing Body has many new members, but it is already apparent that they are well placed to challenge and support the school moving forward.

Jenisa Altink

I currently work for the legal publishing division of a FTSE 100 global provider of information-based analytics, overseeing the strategic development of a product specialising in public company transactions and corporate governance. My corporate perspective gives me a fresh take on the challenges faced by the education sector.

I am passionate about fostering enthusiasm and enjoyment for education from a young age, and currently sit on the governing body of two primary schools in Hertfordshire.  I am delighted to have an opportunity to contribute to the development of Wroxham as a parent governor.

Yeliz Adem

I currently work at Walker Primary School, in Southgate as a Year

One Teacher. I have been teaching for 9 years and have been at Walker for nearly 6 years. I lead PSHE and our Rights Respecting School, helping children to understand about the rights of a child.

We work very closely with Unicef and for the last 2 years we have been very fortunate to have made amazing links with a school in Ghana, who have become our twin school. We do lots of work together and make regular communications with the children through Skype and letters.

I moved to Potters Bar 2 years ago with my husband and 4 children and we love the community feel that Potters Bar has to offer. I am delighted to be part of Wroxham and hope to share some o the amazing work that we do at Walker and work together. Providing children with a fun, engaging and rich curriculum in School to create awe and wonder is paramount. I hope that by having a link with Walker and Wroxham we will be able to share all our good learning and experiences to create the best schools for our children, the future generation.

Andy Hill

As a Co-opted Governor, and member of the premises committee, I have served on the Board of Governors since early 2019. My professional knowledge, as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, lends itself to this role and my experience, as a Director and team leader in a commercial environment, offers an alternative perspective to school life and operations.

I am also a parent at The Wroxham School and have a keen interest in the delivery of excellent education to all the children, in a happy and safe environment. Having joined the Board of Governors at an exciting time for the school, as it was welcomed by the Ivy Learning Trust, I will continue to serve as a Governor on the Local Governing Board to ensure that the highest standards are upheld and delivered.

Nafia Theodotou

I began my association with Wroxham as a parent when the first of my two children joined the nursery in 2009. I began to involve myself with the Friends Association soon after, becoming deputy chair between 2012-2016.

In 2014 I joined the school as a member of staff, and am currently the Co-ordinator of the Teaching School, which offers those working in education continued professional development.

My children's journey here was one where learning was fun and exciting and I witnessed first-hand the incredible effect this environment had on them and their development. They continue to demonstrate a passion for learning which began and was fostered here.

I have always been very grateful to Wroxham as an institution, but from the start, also felt part of a community. One that provided a wonderful environment for children to grow and learn and ultimately thrive.

I am very honoured to have been given the opportunity to now continue my journey as a member of the governing body and will do all that I can to help our school maintain and improve the high standards it has set.

Josh Plotkin

Vice Chair of Governors

I am a secondary teacher and leader, a proud Wroxham parent, and a trust-appointed governor.

I have been a secondary English teacher in a variety of schools for eleven years, and am currently an Assistant Head at Habs Boys School. Serving as a governor of a large comprehensive school for four years earlier in my career has given me valuable experience in working as part of a school governing body.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to work for the good of our school and community at this exciting time, and I look forward to contributing to the development of Wroxham as part of the Ivy Learning Trust.
