Year 3 Learning Note 13th March 2020
This week… we have written some informal letters to the children in our Reception class. We will deliver them next week. In maths, we have started to learn about regrouping when using the column addition algorithm. We really enjoyed sharing our lighthouses with our families on Wednesday afternoon.
Reading for pleasure is very important and we would like you to take the opportunity to read whenever you can. Remember to get you parents to sign your reading records if they hear or see you reading.
This week we have been reading:
· The illustrated Tales of King Arthur (class book)
· Don’t let the pigeon drive the bus
We will be practising the following spellings next week, focussing on words from the statutory list. We will test you next Friday.
Times tables have already been sent home in your reading records. Keep practising using TTRockstars too! In class, we will be focussing on the twelve times tables.
Next week … In English, we will be learning how to write formal letters. In maths, we will be thinking about the most efficient strategy to use when adding. In art, we will be thinking about our favourite British artist. In topic, we will be labelling a local map. This will involve us taking a short walk in the local community on Thursday afternoon. An email will be coming home early next week about this.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Easey, Mrs Kilpatrick and Miss Sparks
